General information

Commodore Portable Typewriter Company, Ltd was engaged in various efforts to market, assemble and distribute typewriters and adding machines. Commodore Industries Limited was incorporated in Jamaica with a plan to assemble typewriters in Jamaica using Czechoslovakian parts and sell them in the United States and Canada under an advantageous tax arrangement with the Jamaican government.<ref>Report of The Royal Commission Appointed to Inquire into the Failure of Atlantic Acceptance Corporation Limited, p.346</ref>

Commodore purchased Herald Square Business Machines, Inc and Superior Typewriter Co., Inc.
